The Bay, Filey (On-Site)
Directly on the site, our guests will benefit from complimentary swimming pool, steam room, sauna and a well-equipped sizeable gym.
Theres a football pitch available and also tennis and an indoor archery range all available (payable locally).
After a workout and swim, why not visit The John Paul Jones pub, which is an inviting pub selling high quality, homemade pub food and has a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits. Staff here are very warm and the pub is dog friendly. There is a great pizzeria next door to the pub called The Four Cats that serve delicious pizza baked in front of you in their huge stone fired oven.
There’s also a handy general store available that sells a while host of essentials and a separate pharmacy too!

Sightseeing
Filey beach itself is literally a ten minute walk from our front door through the complex. The beach stretches for 5 miles and is an award winning clean, sandy beach.
You can walk along the front into Filey town which takes perhaps 50 minutes or so.
Just be aware of tide times, the best time to walk with more time is when the tide is low. When it’s at its highest the sea does meet at the cliff edges.

This is a stunning and very scenic location located only a 10 minute easy drive (head out of the complex and turn right).

This really is a remarkable site, with over half million seabirds between March and October to raise a family on those towering and stunning chalk cliffs.

If you follow your Sat Nav to YO15 1BJ you end up at this amazing destination. It’s literally a pleasant 20 minute drive from the door of our cottage. There is a car park there which only accepts coins. It’s around £1 per hour, there is some free parking at Thornwick Bay which you can then walk across the footpath with stunning scenery before arriving here. There is a nice cafe for food and refreshments but why not consider taking a picnic and either choosing a bench overlooking the amazing scenery or head to the beach and get comfortable for the day. There is also some beautiful cliff top walks in reach.
Definitely worth the trip.

You will catch some amazing sights but then head across the rugged coastline across The Cleveland Way towards Scarborough for as long as you want to walk. Breathe in the sea air and stunning views, you will not be disappointed.

Wow, what a gem this place is. With its tiny cobbled streets and old taverns and unique gift shops. This place is worth a visit. The Abbey is an impressive building worth seeing as is the 199 Steps although there are thankfully some benches dotted up and down the route! The distance is around a 50 minute drive from our cottage but the scenery is stunning en-route.

This is a great and intimate little venue that’s serves up nice pizza in a relaxed atmosphere. They have a fantastic gin based cocktail menu as well as wines, cocktails and some beers.

This is a fantastic place for cocktails. It’s set in a very relaxed atmosphere in a former bank which still has a vault!! Great selection of beers, wines and spirits too!

It’s been around since 2000 and offers a relaxed atmosphere and an open kitchen so you can see your food being prepared. On top of this, the staff are very welcoming, friendly and have a great sense of humour. Highly recommended.

Things To Do
This is a fun packed and purpose built water park based a short drive away in Scarborough. There are various pools, water slides and a Spa for Wellness treatments. In addition there is food and drink available on site. This can be a little pricey but as a treat for water lovers, it’s worth a trip.

Archery is available on-site for a small fee per person. It’s genuinely good fun and although it’s easier than it looks, it’s difficult to score a bullseye!! Definitely worth a visit for both kids but also adults!!

Our guests have free access to the on-site gym, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Just take the pass that’s hung up in the hallway but please remember to return it as it costs £10 for a replacement with The Bay.
