Go White Water Rafting- Tubing is in Townsend (close by) but white water rafting requires you drive 1 hour to Hartford, TN which has a different river. The same companies that provide tubing also provide white water rafting.

This is a top spot to visit for views and swimming. Parking is VERY tight here and VERY limited. So, be prepared to go early and the possibility of not getting parking easily! Yes you can swim here but pick your spot carefully as in some locations the current is strong. Don't swim near the waterfall and plunge pools. There is a short walk up stairs that lead to a cliff where you can see the water from above.
