About the area: We are in the distinctive, historic, multicultural Savan neighborhood. It's a short walk into town to access Back Street, Main Street and Waterfront. We're close to shopping, grocery stores, local markets and restaurants. Taxis and safari buses are available for beach trips and other excursions to other parts of the island. Several favorite beaches are just a short ride away. Ferries and seaplane terminals are within walking distance. Renting a car is recommended to get the full island experience.

Use this greeting before every interaction with any local or merchant. It's a nice thing to start your conversation & goes a long way here on the island

Ahem, ladies, if your toes aren't in the sand, don't wear your bathing suit without a cover-up in public(!) . Men too, a shirt is proper attire on the street.

There is some public transportation

There is public transportation get to the other areas of the islands. Safari styled buses are open seating behind a truck chasis. There is a route that goes weaves around the island.(not all areas) the fare runs $1.00-$2.00 .The stops are as needed. Ask the driver for where you are headed as you board and they will help guide you through the process For general taxi services call the VIRGIN ISLAND TAXI ASSOCIATION
