More a design institute - fantastic for something a bit different, a changing programme of installations/exhibitions, a shop on the ground floor, a cafe at the top, and the Mackintosh Tower is well worth a visit to see rooftop views out across the city and beyond.

For a longer stretch, walk on through Maxwell Park and into Pollok Country Park. Lovely wild woodland walks, a pond, stables. Maxwell House is a lovely example of a family estate and grand house and the old kitchen (now the cafe) is worth a visit to see how the house would have operated (and sample good scones!). There's a shop and exhibition.
