This is our favourite local restaurant. It is nice and close and the food is excellent. The portion sizes are huge. You will likely need a reservation at it gets busy in the summer.

This is a regular stop for us and we highly recommend it if you're travelling to Minden. There are a number of picnic tables to sit at and tons of flavors to choose from. Hint: order a smaller size, the servings are huge!

Only 35 minutes away, a great place to visit to explore the area. Located right beside the locks in a historic building, this place has amazing beer and food (although the menu is small).

If you’re looking for a day trip, Bobcaygeon is a great little town. It has lots of great restaurants, a brewery, museums and is part of the Trent-Severn Waterway.

Movie Theatre

This is a must stop if you have the time. It’s part movie theatre, part museum. Located only 10 minutes from the cottage in Kinmount, this theatre is truly one of a kind. They have current Hollywood movies and you can walk around and see all the memorabilia for free. Definitely recommend going early and taking your time as it gets very busy.
