Apladalen, a homestead and nature park of 22 hectares. Here are cottages from the 18th and 19th centuries that take you on a journey back in time and tell you about what it was like with activities such as shoemaking, gel casting, wire drawing and pottery. The cottages are surrounded by large green areas, several hundred year old oaks, walking paths and a large playground for the children.

In the middle between Gnosjö and Värnamo, on the western side of the Småland highlands is the National Mosse National Park. It is the largest of its kind south of Lapland and consists of untouched bog land of 7,740 hectares, an area corresponding to 10,840 football pitches. The nature at Store Mosse is reminiscent of the northern one and is characterized by a great diversity in both the animal and plant kingdoms, with everything from lakes and marshes to cranes, moose and eagles.

Try a slightly different and more challenging mini golf. Take a trip to Värnamo Camping and play a round on their adventure golf course. Afterwards you can cool off with an ice cream, or maybe with a dip in Prostsjön which is only a few steps away. The course is usually open when the campsite is open.

The railway is an old industrial railway that was built between 1907 and 1910 to transport goods between Bor and Ohs Bruk. In the area you will also find Ohs mill museum, which takes you back in history to the time of use in Ohs.

The bathing area is very child-friendly with a long sandy beach, playground, several barbecue areas and toilets as well as good parking facilities. On the east side of the bathing area there is an area for you who have a dog. The place is signposted with "dog bath" and rules are set.

How to get around
The fastest way to get around in Värnamo is with either your own car or public transport. As Värnamo is a relatively small town, you can also get around on foot as most are within a reasonable distance.

Exhibition: Light
The exhibition Ljus i Blickfånget, Gummifabriken, shows selected textile and ceramic works of art from Värnamo municipality's art collection. This year, female artists who express themselves in textiles, such as weaving, embroidery and printing on textiles, as well as ceramic objects, are highlighted. Some artists who stand out in the exhibition are: Eva Stefanowicz, Inger Jönsson, Maria Silferhielm, Lena Åkesson, Inga Hartvigsson and Bodil Hörlén.

Troll guide in Store Mosse National Park
Every day at 11.00 the moss troll comes out and guides and tells about exciting things in our nature. The activity lasts for about 30 minutes and is aimed at children over four years.
In a playful way, we learn more about the wonderful plants and animals around us. The activity takes place every day during the summer, from 28 June to 29 August.

Exhibition: The journey as a tool
During the spring and summer of 2021, Vandalorum presents "Journey as a tool", an exhibition where visitors can follow Nordic designers' travels around the world.
The exhibition is produced in collaboration between Vandalorum, the Design Museum in Helsinki and the Art Museum in Tønder, Denmark.
