Simply the best Wetherspoon pub you’ll ever visit. With its open air roof terrace overlooking the promenade and coastline where in summer you’ll see spectacular sunsets and it’s stylish and spacious interior restaurant area. The staff here are extremely helpful and pleasant and they serve outstanding food for extremely reasonable prices. Drink selection second to none.

I’m yet to eat here but as soon as I do I’ll report! Location is amazing though with great views over Ilfracombe and the coast, set above the new Watersport Centre

If a countryside experience is what you're looking for then this place is a must! Sunday lunch in the Coach House is a fabulous affair and and Afternoon Tea is perfect too. The daytime and evening menu is brilliant and on some evenings there is live music. The gardens are gorgeous and make a delightful backdrop for a lunchtime or afternoon cooler!

They serve pub grub and also run a vibrant music scene with regular Friday and Saturday events along with quiz nights and other one offs.

Beach days
Simply the best sandy beach ever! Only 10 to 15 mins by car but in high season traffic can be bad so set off very early (9 am) or leave until later an head over early afternoon stay late and catch the best sunset you’ll ever see. Barricane Beach is a small cove further along the esplanade where you will find a fabulous little beach cafe serving all sorts including great home baked cakes. In the evening from 5 until 7 they serve amazing Sri Lankan curries.
Woolacombe village has a superb selection of local shops selling everything! Bar Electric is a great stop for a sundowner and serves excellent food

Getting around Ilfracombe and beyond
Everything is accessible on foot in Ilfracombe but if you prefer to drive there are numerous public car parks. Taxis are very reasonable to use and are plentiful. Buses from Ilfracombe run to Woolacombe Barnstaple and Combe Martin

Ilfracombe has a very well stocked Co Op for all your daily needs as well a great array of local food shops, health food shop and a fantastic butchers call Turtons. At the harbour you can buy fresh fish at S&P. Lidl in Ilfracombe is fabulous and there is also a good Tesco. Delivery supermarkets locally are Sainsburys, Tesco, Waitrose and Morrisons.
