I’m embarrassed that it took me a couple of years to finally get to Calissa. We’d been meaning to go, but it took some of our guests raving about it to finally get us there. The food, atmosphere and hospitality here are top notch!
We had the lamb keftedes, grilled octopus, calamari, and scallop carpaccio to start. Everything was incredible. The octopus was impossibly tender, and I wanted to eat the sauce on the lamb meatballs with a spoon.
For the main, 3 of us shared the branzino with sides of horta (garlicky spinach and kale), lemon potatoes and leek rice, pictured. I don’t remember ever having fish so succulent!
The guests who raved about the food went back the very next night, and we’ll be going back very soon as well!

Excellent food, friendly service and gorgeous views of the Shinnecock Canal and Bay. The Jumbo Buffalo Shrimp appetizer is a great way to kick off the meal. We love the Jumbo, Diver Scallops and the Danish Baby Back Ribs for mains.

If you visit Sag Harbor, treat yourself to dinner at American Hotel. It's like stepping back in time to a forgotten era of luxury and first rate service but without any attitude or pretense. The food is phenomenal. All of it.

You can't beat Pierre's for brunch! The poached eggs with lobster in tarragon hollandaise served on brioche is my go-to. The French toast and croque madame are also excellent choices. And a mimosa, of course!!

Tucked behind a yacht dealership right on the Shinnecock Canal, this unassuming cafe serves up some amazing, fresh food! The lobster roll is packed with lobster and the fish & chips are crispy and delicious as well!
