My personal favorite lighthouse on the OBX. Fun climb and great views. Whalehead Club is right on the same property and is a great tour for history lovers. Hit the Duck boardwalk on the way back for some shopping and snacks.

Great hiking trails and Sound views. The Spiral Staircase is located just on the edge of this preserve. Just head West on Ocean Acres Drive and you can't miss it.

Great little day trip. Quaint Downtown with shopping and restaurants. The Aquarium, The Lost Colony, History Museum and Elizabethan Garden are all in Manteo. Make a day of it! A fish basket at O'Neil's in Wanchesse for a real treat.

Great beaches with trails, lighthouse and museums. A great scenic drive. If you really want to make a day out of it, get up early and drive down to take the passenger or vehicle ferry to Ocracoke for the day!
