Vintage flea market
Set on an open square 10 min walk from the flat and a stone throw away from the city’s most famous square – Ban Jelačić Square – Britanski trg Flea Market (British Square) is one of Zagreb’s vivid symbols, always busy and full of people in search for a nice antique or a thoughtful present with a peculiar charm.
Every Sunday, Britanski market’s fruits and vegetables stalls are cleared, and an attractive antique market and bric-a-brac is laid out, with over 100 stallholders trading goods from first thing in the morning.
From second hand light shades to antique porcelain artifacts, everything is available at Britanski Flea market. A non exhaustive list of items sold on the wooden trestle tables of the Britanski trg flea market include: Paintings, jewellery, old currency, badges, glass bottles, antique furniture, antique cameras and optical instruments, mechanical spare parts, old pictures on glass plates, antique books and maps, gramophones with their own LPs, photo frames, religious icons, decorative mirrors, posters, crockery, silver, old farming tools, lamp shades and much more. And as usual with flea markets, prices are subjected to heavy bargaining
Britanski trg flea market is a lively local gathering, and a perfect way to experience Zagreb’s local culture and traditions. A visit to such place gets visitors involved in a world of colour, antiques, kitsch, dusty books, shiny porcelain and scratched tin cups. Every item has a story and it’s hard not to feel fanciful in a surrounding like this.

Organic food shop
A treasure trove of organic and yummy things 5 min walk from the flat. Far the best organic fruit and veg shop in town. Slightly higher prices from other grocery stores but absolutely works it if you’re into your organic delicacies.

One of the coolest alternative places in Zagreb just 10 min walk from the fat. Whether you're into good old coffee time, after work chill or (craft) beer-loving adventures this is the place to visit. The ground floor features a chilled out cafe and basement club of the bar regularly hosts LGBTQI, dance and various other club nights. The music is played from vinyl from the bar all the time. The first floor of Pločnik has a record store called PDV where you can find & buy various items, gifts, books, merchandise and titles by digging through the alphabet of various (sub)genres for your record collection.

Whether you're into good old coffee time, after work chill or (craft) beer-loving adventures this is the place to visit. Service is quick and courteous and the bar has an extensive wine list. Bit on a pricey side but it's worth it if you want to treat yourself. You might want to book a table in advance to secure your spot.

Roots is an amazing vegan-friendly breakfast and cocktail bar with fab breakfast options and cocktails selection in the afternoon. Starting from 10 am they offer a variety of smoothies, fresh juices, great coffee, smoothie bowls, avo on toast and all other breakfast goodies. After 4 pm the whole concept changes into a bar where you can enjoy outstanding cocktails! The service is great and the staff is very friendly. The location is also worth noting. After you had your breakfast pop on to the funicular next door and explore the upper town!
