A Grungy no-nonsense bike shop with skilled techs. Feels like it's out of a punk movie.

Higher-end shop selling mostly Trek and Bontrager products. It is a neat place to visit with memorabilia and history from Lance's career. (It's his shop). The staff is very knowledgable, but can feel pretentious at times. - Juan Pelota Cafe - is located inside and has great espresso.

City/town information

35 miles south of Austin you'll find the BBQ capital of Texas. -- Smitty's Market -- My favorite in town. If you walk through the back entrance you can walk by the pits and feel like you're part of the action. -- Kreuz Market -- a cool location with long banquet tables and the best for large groups -- Black's Barbecue -- While you'll find Black's BBQ elsewhere (Austin, San Marcos, and New Braunfels) this is the original location

Austin BBQ

Some of the great BBQ spots in Austin
A hidden gem that is easily overlooked given its proximity to Franklin’s BBQ. It’s less than half a mile away has less wait times and depending on who you ask just as good as Franklin’s in my opinion. Great sides, brisket, and sausage and must haves.

An essential Austin experience. I’ve waited in line for hours to get in before and have never been let down. The brisket is the best I’ve ever had. They have great pies from local bakery “cake and spoon” too! You can’t go wrong with a pecan pie for dessert!

Support the local YMCA! If you have a membership to a YMCA where you live, then I’m sure you know that your membership works here too! Located at a trail head for the Walnut Creek trail you can park and ride your bike, walk or run easily from the ymca parking lot.

Bike around downtown with a rental

Metro bike austin (formerly austin b cycle) is a great way to rent bikes and get around town safely. I personally like them over scooters and many stations have e-bikes too which make it even easier to get around. 3-day weekender plan, is less than $20 and gives unlimited 60 min rides.
