A lovely area of Bude. The canal starts at the lockgates and extends in land. A lovely Towpath to walk along.
Boats and pedalos can be hired from Bude Boat hire, currently being run by the 3rd generation of the Sampson family. Who also run The Barge, Bude's only floating restaurant !
Historically very interesting and the only working lock gates on the North Cornish Coast.
Take a stroll up the towpath to The Weir at Whalesborough perhaps for lunch or afternoon tea. Perhaps dinner and a taxi home.

A lovely sandy beach sheltered by Bude Breakwater. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months and provide a safe swimming area between flags at all states of the tide. A fabulous spot for families, hire a beach hut as a base and enjoy a sandy summer holiday.
If the tide is out, visit the Breakwater and look for Tommy's Pit another open air seawater pool. Search for the small fossils to be found in some of the large stones on the breakwater. Climb up the steps at Chapel Rock and again admire the views.
