Sligo creek trail is a long trail along the creek where you can bike, run, roller blade, or walk. It connects many neighborhoods, including takoma park, and includes tennis courts.

Brookside gardens is gorgeous and free to visit! Beautiful views and a nice walk in any season. there are additional trails throughout Wheaton Regional Park that connect to the garden.

To get into DC, you can take the metro from the Forest Glen metro stop, which is 1.5 miles from the house. Take the red line towards DC. Most museums are free and located near the National Mall.

our downtown center, veteran's plaza, offers a lot of outdoor activities throughout the year. check out the farmers' market on saturdays from 9a-1p or the many cultural festivals on weekends. there is also salsa dancing on the first tuesday of every month from 6-9 (you'll probably catch me there!)!

if you're looking for some night life, check out the Georgia Ave strip. Mix lounge offers music and dancing (salsa, kizomba, afrobeat, etc) on weekends. you can also watch various sports games each evening there. Pallisades lounge has a rooftop bar. Society lounge offers late night music and dancing. The Quarry house is the oldest bar in the area and feels more like a basement speakeasy. Abyssinia ethiopian restaurant offers live reggae music on weekends.
check out the comedy night on Thursdays in the upstairs room. there's also karaoke on Friday nights!
