This is our vibrant, historic city tucked next to the Mohawk River. Schenectady is known for the arts and entertainment highlighted by Proctor's Theater and Rivers Casino. Here there are almost 100 unique restaurants perched next to the river, or settled in the historic areas of town. If nature is your preference, walk/bike along the Mohawk, enjoy one of nine nature preserves, relax or play tennis in Central Park, or drive a short distance to ski. Our historic town is east of Albany, south of Saratoga and the Adirondack Mountains, and just three hours from Boston or New York City. Schenectady is the perfect location for work and leisure.

The best of the area is found in the charming town of Saratoga. Just 30 minutes north of Schenectady, it is home to the Saratoga Raceway, excellent food, and nightlife. It is a must for any visitor.

Instead, take Amtrak from the Schenectady Station (parking free) to New York City Penn Station for about $100 pp round trip.
