Beach

It's about 30 minute walk from the house, following the road along the shore line. But if you are into adventure, I would recommend going down the steps next to the apartment and taking the shoreline all the way there! You must wear comfortable shoes, as there will be a places where you have to walk on sharp rocks and even do a bit of climbing!

So this is actually a beach recommendation! lol...there's a stairs that go down in front of the el capitolio, and the beach is usually very private, a little hidden gem, although so close to the city! It's so hidden that the beach isn't even searchable on this app1 hence the misguiding photo ...and the beach is actually called playa Peña! The same advice as for the escambron beach applies here, you can get to this beach by following the road that starts from the top of the stairs in front of la verguënza, turn left and follow it along the shore line until you see the capital and take the stairs going down to the beach! OR, you can take the stairs right next to the apartment building leading down to the local beach and follow that beach line all the way. You would need comfy shoes as there will be sharp rocks and climbing involved, so not recommended unless you are into adventuring and use to extreme hiking in the nature.

This beach is at the end of many beautiful beaches in Piñones, best times to visit is early in the week days, during the weekend and afternoons it gets grounded. At sunset the mosquitos come out so make sure to bring bug spray ! To get here I don't recommend ubering as the reception cuts off and Ubers can be hard to reach. I have had guests who rented bikes and cycled here, and also driving your rented vehicle is also a great option!

This beach is absolutely a dream, the waves are always calm and the water is beautiful tortoise and the sand is coral white and so soft. It's about 2 hour drive from the apartment so I recommend either a day tour or renting a car to get here! Best times to visit are early in the day during the week day, weekends are incredibly busy and it's hard to find parking anywhere near. Be careful about parking on the street as you I have seen parking tickets been given out for cars illegally parking on the roadside.
