Sightseeing
An abundance of activities and sights to see in this little coastal town. A great place to base for a few days while you explore the various hikes, a favorite of mine is the Harding Ice Field Trail on a clear day or a hike out to Tonsina from Lowell Point. Walk down onto the docks and check out the boats up close and possibly see a sea otter chowing on a snack. A great bike path along the waterfront. A few one of a kind bars downtown. All kinds of tours to experience. One of my favorites is a Helicopter tour with Mike at Marathon Helicopters. He will take you out to Bear Glacier lagoon, land on the edge, and you can hear the ice crackling, really stunning area to see from above.

Best restaurant in Town!! Chef Kevin smokes all his own meats, sources a lot of local food, and has my favorite dessert in town. They make a cream cheese ice cream with a side of bacon (you have to ask for this) drizzled with balsamic reduction. Oh, it's amazing!!

An unique experience that services savory and sweet crepes! They are hearty and big. The owner used to be a commercial diver so the sitting area is filled with all kinds of interesting things. It can take a while sometimes, but the food is delicious. IF all the tables are full and only a few people have food, probably worth coming back another time. You will have a long wait. However, the food is really good. Reindeer sausage is my favorite!
