Sightseeing

The Palace of Fine Arts in the Marina District of San Francisco, California, is a monumental structure originally constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition in order to exhibit works of art presented there. One of only a few surviving structures from the Exposition, it is still situated on its original site. It was rebuilt in 1965, and renovation of the lagoon, walkways, and a seismic retrofit were completed in early 2009. In addition to hosting art exhibitions, it remains a popular attraction for tourists and locals and is a favorite location for weddings and wedding party photographs for couples throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and such an icon that a miniature replica of it was built in Disney's California Adventure in Anaheim.[3]

Located almost directly under the Golden Gate the old Fort Point military base is now home to many businesses (Fort Point Brewing, House of Air, etc.) and a walkers paradise. Highly recommend venturing over to Fort Point.

Food scene

Fort Mason is the home of the "Off the Grid" food truck soiree. Check their website, linked below, for dates/times. Fort Mason is also great for sightseeing. The park above the fort is very popular and you could easily spend an entire weekend day enjoying the festivities. https://fortmason.org/event/off-grid-2019/

For two generations my family has been going to Swensen's ice cream. Hand's down the best ice cream in the city. I would recommend the Thin Mint or Peppermint flavors. The Cookies & Cream has entire oreos in it.

Consejos para la ciudad

Facilidad para moverse por la casa

Uber/Lyft are very efficient at getting around the city.

SF is fairly small so geographically it is easy to get around by car. Public transportation is simple as well, but make sure to take the hills into consideration if you are planning on riding the bus and walking afterwards.
Facilidad para moverse por la casa

If you drive, leave no valuables in your car.

Throughout San Francisco there is a penchant for people breaking into cars if valuables are visible. We highly recommend never leaving anything in your car.
Qué debes empacar

Bring a light jacket.

San Francisco is a perennial "jacket weather city". Because of the fog it may be warm in the morning but slightly chilly in the afternoon. Really depends on the neighborhood.

Walking!

San Francisco is only seven miles by seven miles. You can walk almost anywhere that you would want to go, including over the Golden Gate and into Marin County.
