Keeping customers happy since 1792, it's an atmospheric blast from the past with its low, wood-beamed ceiling, gleaming brass pumps in the traditional L-shaped bar and cosy corners to catch up with friends. That makes it a magnet for tourists, of course, but above all, it's a favourite with musicians and music lovers, drawn in with a promise not only of live bands several times a week, but also of spontaneous jams breaking out among the cosmopolitan clientele.
