There is no motorised transport on the island. Walking and bicycles are the go! If you need help with your suitcases - the roads can be bumpy, sandy, dusty - you must take a horse cart from the harbour. Horse carts charge a SET FEE, not negotiable, of 100,000 rupiah per couple with luggage. If you have more people, please do not overload the little horses, instead pay for two carts. If you have concerns re the ethics of supporting the use of horse carts, keep in mind that everything you will sit on, sleep in, drink and eat on the island has been transported there by horse cart as well.

Gili Meno is famous for its many sea turtles. There's also hundreds of fish and other marine life. Snorkelling can be great fun, either by yourselves, or we can book you onto a public or private snorkelling trip! Definitely a must do activity here :)

Please be respectful of the local culture, and do not walk inside the island or through the villages in swimming costumes. A simple sarong to cover up is fine, and they can be purchased easily here.

Unfortunately some of the beaches are covered in bits of coral, and reef shoes will help make walking comfortable. Also, if you choose to go snorkelling by yourselves, and it is low tide, you will need to walk over rocks and dead coral to get out to the reef.

You will share the island with many chickens, noisy cockerels (they crow all day and night lol), cows, goats, and many many cats. There are no dogs on the island.
