London is famous for its diverse food scene but you still need to know where to go. Below you will find a selection of the best local restaurants, serving wonderful World foods at reasonable prices.
This is a wonderful Iranian restaurant where they make fresh home-made flatbread, hummus and Arabic tea. The decor will send you straight to the Middle East; it will feel as if you're on holiday there. The service is outstanding, the food - delicious, and the portions - more generous than you can manage. The restaurant is known to the entire Middle Eastern community in West London and it is busy every night of the week. You generally do not need to reserve a table; they will fit you in.

This is, hands down, the best Indian restaurant in the area. It isn't the cheapest but - as far as restaurants in London go - it is still very reasonable. The food is absolutely delicious but if you can't handle it too spicy - make sure you tell them :)

This is more of a Thai kitchen than a restaurant but that's exactly what makes it wonderful. Compact and modestly set inside, it offers the tastiest and most authentic Thai food in the area at a lower price than any of the other spots around. They offer a lunch menu up until 3pm which is even less expensive. (They close between 3pm and 6pm)

If you love Caribbean food, you will absolutely love this place. The barbecue chicken and the dumpling burgers are the kind you won't get anywhere else in London. It is a bit of a walk from the flat and not really that comfy for a sit-down meal, but you can get a a delivery in about 30mins. We order from there weekly because it is beyond delicious :)

Known as "the Curry Mile", Brick Lane by Aldgate Station in East London (single journey on the Hammersmith & City Line) is a never ending street full of Indian and other South Asian restaurants. It is always vibrant, colourful and fun and really a must-visit for anyone coming to London. You can't come to London and not try the Indian food. Never book ahead. Instead, have a wander and make sure you barter with the hosts standing outside who will try to lure you into their particular restaurant. Brick Lane is at its busiest on Sundays and on weekend evenings.
