We are friends with the owner Mark and know many of the staff, including Joe (the farmer), the baker Megan, bartenders Caitlyn and servers Oona, Emily, Sarah and Dorian. They don't take reservations except for 4 or more people and they can get busy on weekend nights, so plan ahead.

This is the spot for special occasions and we have celebrated our anniversaries there. More expensive but the food is excellent and the wait staff are fantastic. Very romantic. All gas lights. Very good cocktails as well.

So we moved from Brooklyn so we weren't expecting much since we had amazing pizza back there, but this pizza is extraordinary! Also really great large salads. Such a yummy crust and interesting combinations. They offer great beer as well. Sometimes a long line since it is so popular so be prepared for that.

Such a yummy crust and interesting combinations. They offer great beer as well. Sometimes a long line since it is so popular so be prepared for that.
The Farmington River Diner is just down the road from us, and is a solid place to grab breakfast. It's a charming storefront with reasonable prices, although you will have to pay $2 extra for real maple syrup.

We love Roadside Cafe. The pancakes are enormous, and the food is good and very affordable. In addition, the place supports and employs guests at Gould Farm in addition to volunteers and staff. Shannon & Fiona will take great care of you and know us. It's popular, so expect a line on holidays and high season times so usually better to get there early. I love getting rainbow pancakes (bananas, strawberries and blueberries), and the chicken scratch is a great deal.

We have only been here once so far as it recently changed management but were very happy with our meal so will go back again. Jenny had a very tasty hamburger, and I had a delicious Huevos Rancheros and cocktail.

If you are looking for quality footwear, this is where we get most of our hiking boots, snow boots and galoshes. They also have some beautiful active clothing, but it is more pricey unless on sale. The owner Peter is lovely and will take great care of you.

This museum is fantastic. There is usually a special exhibit on the lower level of a current illustrator. We think that the free docent talks every hour on the hour will make your visit even more special. If the weather is nice, the grounds are beautiful to walk around as well.

A gorgeous pond 7 minutes from us where we kayak and swim our dog. Stunning!
There is a beach, pond and hiking trails. And you can paddle there. It is one of our favorite places as you can engage in several outdoor activities here. Also a relatively level hike so good for novices.
