Best Beaches to Visit!

Sightseeing

The black volcanic sand itself is beautiful, but the vegetation and ocean make it perfect. Great for walking your pup too. There is a little “gym area” with make-shift swings you can enjoy. Reggae bar is right across the road, you can’t miss it. At the end of the beach there is a little jungle trail that leads to coral and the ocean you can explore, just beware for snakes and such. Usually not as busy as The National Park. The best part is that it is a 3 min walk to the beach from The Hideout.

Walking the trail or along the ocean is always very enjoyable here. There are flags that indicate where it is safe to swim in the ocean + they have National Park Guards patrolling the area throughout the day. Although it may be a long walk, seeing the Cahuita Point is a must. You can also get a tour guide to take you on a boat. There are so many amazing, exotic animals in the park. I will warn you this is not a spot for picnicking... due to the abundance of tourists feeding the raccoons and monkeys they will come out and steal your food. I personally do not bring any food with me when I visit the park for this reason. I would also advise not feeding the animals either, it could be dangerous to you and them.

Playa Grande is Black beach just waaay down the road. It’s very beautiful, big and quiet. Not many people go there so it’s a bit more private.
