This bakery in the next neighborhood over (Bonita) has been in business for over 30 years and is the best bakery.  Decent prices and fast service.  You can also get coffee there now.  I love their chocolate eclairs, the cream filling is the best. They don’t have the same items every day.

Straight west is the closest marina/bay shore. Lovely place to take a stroll and take in the view. A few restaurants, playground. Never real populated. Major hotel going up nearby so some area likely closed off but still worth enjoying the other areas.

World famous zoo. You can take a bus going around or walk, which provides a very peaceful and beautiful experience.

Great place to sit and enjoy the bay. My favorite activity there is to go bike riding. It’s 11 miles all the way around the bay mostly on dedicated bike path.

The old San Diego visitor center has been revitalized into a great place to sit and enjoy a snack and a drink and take in the lovely ambience of the bay. These pictures do not do it justice. When you’re out and about this is a great stop to pull over and get out of your car and enjoy this lovely venue. You can also rent bikes here now.
