Our local favorites
Here comes a short list of our favorites, if you’re looking for something else or want tips for sightseeing, running or whatever. Give us a call and I’ll set up some ideas made for the things you like. We’ve got tips for all prices ranges.
This little bakery opens at 07:00 and have some of the best bread and pastry around, possible both for take away and to eat in. It’s located approx. 5 minutes’ walk from the apartment.
Rolf especially recommends their “Skolebrød” which is a bun with vanilla custard and shredded coconut on top.
The prices are fairly cheap (for Oslo), expect to pay about 150 NOK per person for a sandwich, juice and a coffee.
A bread to bring home will set you back somewhere between 40-60 NOK.

The menu is very traditional, and the restaurant is always packed. Try to get a table in a booth downstairs and let the formally dressed waiters guide you through the menu. Lorry is also known to be a popular spot for political and cultural elite; you might be sitting next to a Norwegian celebrity without knowing. Expect to pay 300 NOK for a main course.
The Bonus tip: After 22:00 they serve a special menu which is available till late. Nothing is as satisfying as going for a sit-down dinner and a beer at 2 in the morning (midnight fish’n’ chips is 190 NOK).

High end food-store, this is where you get the French cheeses, black truffles, exotic fruits and Norwegian prosciutto. They also have a selection of high end meat-products. Expensive, but very nice.
During summer they also set up a ice-cream stand across the streeet from their shop, you should definitely try out some ice-cream with creative toppings such as olive oil and salt, crispy bacon or what ever they are trying out this year.
