Pigeon Island is one of the two marine national parks of Sri Lanka with some of the best remaining coral reefs of the country. This island is much popular for snorkeling and scuba diving, also large numbers of turtles and blacktip reef sharks are seen here. Getting into Pigeon island will take only 20 minutes from the apartment.

There are seven wells in a square shape. Wells are only 3-4 feet deep and you can clearly see the bottom. The temperature is considerably high but vary from one spring to another.

Fort Federick was built by the Portuguese and was later renovated by the Dutch. This fort was later conquered by the British when they arrived in Sri Lanka, the then Ceylon. Today, the fortress is occupied by the Sri Lankan military, but visitors are able to explore several of its ramparts.
