Barnharts is located right on Hamlin Lake and is only a 5 minute walk from the cottage. It is the only restaurant located on the lake. It's a casual dining experience with a variety of food.

A local secret for big pizzas with a ton of toppings. There's not a lot of seating so we'd recommend ordering ahead for pick up. They open at 4pm, so they are not available for lunch.

Parks & Nature
Ludington State Park is about a 15 minute drive from the cottage, we'd highly recommend making it part of your trip. There is an excellent beach, a great outlet for kids to swim in, a river you can tube down (very gentle), a lighthouse and many wonderful hiking trails!

8800 M-116Ludington State Park is about a 15 minute drive from the cottage, we'd highly recommend making it part of your trip. There is an excellent beach, a great outlet for kids to swim in, a river you can tube down (very gentle), a lighthouse and many wonderful hiking trails!
Stearns Park Beach is a focal point in Ludington. It's over 2500 feet of beautiful sandy beach so you'll have plenty of room to find a place to camp out for the day. There are a couple snack shops open in the summer and you can take the half mile walk out to the lighthouse. There is also a playground nearby, a skate park, shuffleboard, and mini-golf. Don't miss it!

Stearns Park

There are a couple snack shops open in the summer and you can take the half mile walk out to the lighthouse. There is also a playground nearby, a skate park, shuffleboard, and mini-golf. Don't miss it!
Head to the park with the kids and watch the historic S.S. Badger come home or leave for it's journey across the lake. The waterfront park is close to downtown and has a giant playground great for all ages. It's a great place for a picnic or to enjoy the sunset.

This is the closest grocery store to the cottage, about a 5 minute drive. They have all of the essentials you'll need and they have a wide variety of fish bait and supplies. We'd recommend doing the majority of your food shopping at Meijer or Walmart before you head out to the cottage.

Ludington is home to a wonderful children's museum. Be sure to check it out for a few hours with your kids.
