Eats & Treats

Eating spots on the tiny Isle of Stock and just my favs in Key West. Trip Advisor is another good source to find and see ratings for all kinds of food, fun and beyond
Decent atmosphere all around and poolside of the Perry Hotel. Best values during Happy Hour which kicks in at 4 pm and last till 6 pm. Marina residents and their pets will typically slide over for a beverage. Otherwise pretty high on the speedy chart for food and drink.

Eclectic food and drinks offered in indoor/outdoor seating options. Broad bar selection with some upscale labels. Sunday Brunch spot. Interesting craft beers. Happy hour in bar from 6 - 8pm which offers small plates. Pricing is high compared to nearby competition. Your paying for the hotel convenience.

Yummy breakfast and desert options. Dine in back patio or take home. Great cuban coffee and specialty coffees without the Starbuck price. Way too good selections of bakery items; quiche, pastries, breads and AMAZING DESSERT SELECTIONS. Fair price for what you get.

Italian style wood fired pizzeria and other fabulous fair including delectable local fish served with an italian twist. Full bar, busy place, nightly specials - get here early for dinner. Lunch served as well. You can find some good deals but it may take some practice.

A Stock Island locals favorite - it got a bit too much notoriety for awhile but COVID19 allowed them to bring back the quality they had lost. Several fresh seafood dishes, burgers, chicken etc. Open air seating in waterfront area. Slightly dingy and very casual. Plastic dinner plates...smokers often at the full bar. Serving breakfast, lunch & dinner. I suggest walking the docks for some cool sights after your meal.

Locals cuban food stop with focus on fresh fish, rice, black beans. Better than average - occasionally awesome fish however I prefer the El Siboney steak dinner. Very tasty with lime and garlic and good value. Full bar. Easy walk from Stock Island Marina.

Located poolside at between The Piers at the Marina, The Barrel House was off to a good start but hasn’t recovered from COVID downtime. Prices are too high, hours are limited. Food is ran out from Perry Hotel. There is a full bar but I haven’t seen any happy hour or specials to bring folks in. So it’s it a bit on he pricey side but it is poolside.

Great views and overall welcoming outdoor dining atmosphere at this waterfront location. Opened in early 2021 so may have an occasional kink but 1/2 price happy hour menu has been a hit for the 40+ group locals. I find the food only average and even though I dig the view, find myself not wanting to eat there.

Upscale casual with inside/outside dining options on the exclusive Sunset Key - only accessible by ferry from the Key West waterfront. A bit on the pricey side but in a delightful waterview setting and delicious food. It is a short sweet ferry ride over and free parking in the garage near Mallory Square is included. I reserve weeks in advance for a special dinner or days in advance for a great lunch getaway.

Shopping - I don't like shopping much...

Lots of fresh, light cottons and linens for men and women - yes, it feels soooo good! While your there you may as well begin the waterfront walk - it's the perfect day for a stroll.

Slightly closer to Stock Island, local all call this Publix store the "old Publix" - only because it was here before the Publix just up the road was added after Hurricane Wilma. What IS COOL about this store? They stock a tomn more of the unique and specialty foods. The general selection is smaller than the 'new Publix' so they have found a nice niche market and I so totally appreciate them!

Food scene

It’s a must do in KW at least once. It’s pricey but worth every penny for the entire experience. Your reservation time is actually the time you catch the ferry (Front street pier behind Margaritaville Resort.) The ferry is complementary and no reservation is required, your restaurant reservation is your ferry reservation. The restaurant is remarkable and the food was top notch. It’s a great night away from the obnoxiousness of Duval Street.

Qué debes empacar

Light clothing & Reef friendly Sunscreen is your friend

No heavy luggage - especially if your staying on a boat. Wear light cottons, linens, and mariner's s shirts - so comfortable most months in Key West. Knit blends are and hot. If your skin burns, Reef friendly sunscreen on exposed areas is a winner. Flip flops or sandals without heals are great. Heels cause challenges due to uneven ground or sidewalk cracks. Heavy shoes, sneaker make your feet sweat too. Swimsuits, rash guards, light rain jackets or ponchos. Polarized sunglasses - if you want to see the sea :)
