Vogel State Park is a park located on Highway 19/129 approximately eleven miles (18 km) south of Blairsville. It is centered around Lake Trahlyta. It's a nicw walk around the lake. In the summer, there used to be swimming, but not sure if there still is. Small entrance fee, but worth a visit.

Brasstown Bald is the highest mountain peak in Georgia. It has a park with a picnic area and a small observation tower near the peak with a movie chronicling the change of seasons and the impact of pollution on the mountain. The peak may be reached by bus or by walking from a point halfway to the top, beyond which private vehicles are not allowed.
Excellent views from the top if it's not too cloudy. It's a "short" path up to the top, but it is very steep and tiring. Consider paying the extra for the team and walk down if you'd like. At the top is a small museum and scenic views. Very nice day or half day trip.

Brasstown Bald Visitors Center
2941 GA-180 SpurBrasstown Bald is the highest mountain peak in Georgia. Beautiful park with nice, maintained trails. There is also a river running through the park. It is very peaceful. Free entry. There's something for everyone: tennis, basketball, skating, hiking, kayaking, fishing, canoeing, and a family pool with a small for the little ones. There's also a disc golf course and a dedicated dog walking park. There are four ball fields and plenty picnic area with covered pavilions.

There's an assortment of country shops and I believe one restaurant. It's a cute area and worth a visit if you're heading by it anyway.

The Union County Farmers Market is an excellent place to visit for fresh produce, local artwork, plants, and other items for sell. On certain days it is a flea market and other days just for produce. They also have special events there with local bands and charity events.
There's quite a lot to sample and buy but unfortunately, this farmers market isn't open very much, just Saturdays starting in June and going through late Oct.
