Food Scene
Food is great and so is the view. Restaurant sits over Elliot bay and has an awesome view of downtown Seattle. You can take the water taxi from the Seattle waterfront (Pier 50) to Seacrest Dock (West Seattle) 1660 Harbor Avenue SW. From the dock it's about a 1/4 mile walk South to Salty's. You can also take the C-Line Rapid Ride bus from 3rd and Pike to Alaska Junction, cross Alaska St and catch the # 37 or 773 bus to Harbor Ave SW and 2100 block, continue by walking in the same direction a short distance. There are a ton of restaurants/bars on Capitol hill. I like Sam's Tavern (1024 E. Pike St.). They serve Seattle's best Bloody Mary (it has a mini cheese burger on top), and 8oz Burger & Co (1401 Broadway). They serve excellent burgers, fries, and beers there.

It's a nice quiet old growth forest where you become one with nature as you walk along the trails. If you exit the park on the North end its only a few blocks to Alki Beach.

This is only an 8 minute walk from the house and they have everything I need as far as food and cleaning supplies. The prices are probably the lowest in Seattle.
