If you are looking for hiking, walking, nature, this is an amazing one. There are a few "steps" so be warned! But being right at the base of the water is breathtaking, and if you bring a lunch with you, can make for an amazing day out! Don't get lost on the trails by being out too late (many rescues happen after dark for this reason!)

One of our favourite places is the Whirlpool. Not always a place tourists are aware of but it is quite facinating. You don't need to take the aerocar, you can actually drive around to the lookout point near the Adventure Walk place (park in the parking lot and walk out to the railing area - it's free!). There are also stairs in different locations you can walk down to following hiking paths along the river, go fishing, or just watch the rapids. Free of charge!

You don't need to take the aerocar, you can actually drive around to the lookout point near the Adventure Walk place (park in the parking lot and walk out to the railing area - it's free!). There are also stairs in different locations you can walk down to following hiking paths along the river, go fishing, or just watch the rapids. Free of charge!
Another great view with some history attached to it (as is all along the Niagara Parkway). Small fee to go up the monument but you can walk the grounds for free. There is also a lovely restaurant with great views but not always open.

It's simply a most beautiful drive from the Falls area to Niagara-on-the-Lake, with parks for picnicing, golf courses, wineries, beautiful horticulture, bordered with the fantastic Niagara River and views of the USA, some wonderful spots to pull over and take in the breathtaking views, or read the plaques about the history of the area. Map out your stops before you go so you don't miss anything! And be sure to check out a fruit stand or two for whatever is in season.

Adventure Walk is amazing and in the opposite direction of the tourist area and a gorgeous drive along the Niagara River Parkway. A definite must-do for the outdoor/adventurist. Some great hikes in this area, as well as bike trails and golf.
The Zipline and Mistrider are towards Clifton Hill/Tourist Zone, and get quite busy, so try to book ahead for any of these.
