Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tamaki won World Building of the Year in 2013 so even if you're not interested in the art go just to see the building. Of course, it's packed with good artworks both local and international. The coffee shop is also good.

Getting Around
The main station for Auckland (and currently under renovation), Britomart is where you get on the trains for all the lines south, west and east. Many buses depart from this area too and the ferry terminal is across the road.
