Everything Else
Lorne is 2 hours along the Great Ocean Road from the Cottage. It is a village on the ocean and 5 minutes drive inland gets you to magnificent forest. At Lorne there is great art, food, surfing, walking, cycling, bush walks, coffee culture and occasionally still...sleepy hollow feeling. Worth a day trip or overnight stop. It's also a great midway point if you want to travel the Great Ocean Road which is spectacular and more.

Lorne

Arts & Culture
I never liked museums because I thought they were 'dead' places. This one's not. Unique indigenous interactive 'Bunjilaka' will open your mind about the First Nation people of this great southern land. A changing feast is this museum. Another place is the Ian Potter Gallery at Federation Square in town which houses spectacular indigenous large scale art. It is a unique aesthetic. Another facility is Heide Art Park which has landscape and art exhibits through the year and great eating too. So many, I could go on and on!

Melbourne Museum/Rathdowne St station

To Sunflower for vegan cafe grub. Homewares and crystals, Combi for raw organic cafe experience. There's lots in this village just 30 mins. walk from the Cottage.
