Some of my favorite places to eat and visit
Lines are large for a reason. Sit outside if you can. They have sweet waffles and savory waffles. I had one with smoked salmon and my daughter one with chocolate and lavender sauce that was out of this world. Neither one of us wanted to share with the other. Really unique place.

Both at Wyoming Blvd. and Central locations. Order the Boss Bowl. My daughter ordered something cooked, but she liked mine. So good. Cold seafood with those semi-sweet Asian sauces. Great for a hot ABQ day! I could not stop eating.

Wild décor. Paintings all over the walls. Fantastic for kids and young adults that want to be cool. The older crowd appreciate all the Hollywood personalities depicted. Good pizzas and pastas. Many cheesecakes and wonderful tiramisu. Very reasonable prices.

It's a great atmosphere, and walking distance from the house. They have a Sushi bar and great drinks. The food is a fusion of Asian dishes. The service is superb.

More like a neighborhood pub. Great atmosphere, and they allow dogs on the leach outside. This is a micro brewery, so you will find the beers they produce. The food there is great to share: fondue & pretzel bites, several sandwiches and flat breads.

First of all, the food is great and the prices very cheap. Therefore, if you go in the lunch or dinner times, expect to find it crowded. Yet, it's that popular for a reason! It's about 2.2 miles away.

Neighborhoods

By the foothill of the Sandia Mountain, many guests bring their running shoes and bikes to explore the trails everywhere. Follow Copper Ave towards the mountains and trails will appear. You can also go to Menaul Blvd. and sit at the picnic tables to watch the sun setting beyond the city of Albuquerque. Many dog lovers bring their companion to explore beautiful and scenic hikes in the early morning or late afternoon.

The "Eye" is where I-40 and I-25 cross. Besides the traffic, be careful roaming Central avenue near that area and down town or any cross street that has the name of a state like: Texas, Pennsylvania, Utah, etc. There are a lot of illegal street activities in the area, and a number of homeless residents that sometimes may not be safe to travelers. I do no even stop to put gas in my car. However, there are many cool restaurants in the are and bars with heavy metal music for young folks. I have been with my daughter, and we waked at night up and down finding cool places for her to keep in mind and bring her friends one day.

Sightseeing

You must go up the Sandia Mountain and ride the Tramway. Fantastic views from the mountain top. Hold on to your hat and sunglasses, because the wind is strong up there. Great historic narration about the terrain, Tramway construction and ABQ. Highly recommended. In fact, you have not been in ABQ until you had this bird's view. There is an expensive restaurant up there, and a "cheaper" one. One of my guests told me she paid $40 for a little bowl of chili soup, a salad with shrimp and water.

Balloon Festival in October

Ascension Ceremony early in the AM -- dawn. In the evening, balloons come back and glow. Each day a different even takes place. Take a blanket to sit one and to cover. The desert is chilly at night and early morning.
