This is very nice place for dinner or a drink! Next to the water 'de Zaan' you can find this place. It's a nice walk from the house for about 20 minutes. This area is called 'Hemterrein' and it's a very big space where they used to make weapons in the old days. Worth a visit!

Zaanferry to the Zaanse Schans or Amsterdam
The Zaanferry goes from Zaandam to Amsterdam by ferry. It's a nice trip to see Zaandam and Amsterdam from the water! And you get there in a short amount of time. You can also go to the Zaanse Schans from there (windmills), definitely a must go1 Take the ferry from 'Zaantheater' in Zaandam, a 5-10 minute walk from our house. Around the corner of the street 'Prins Hendrikstraat' there is a very nice playground at 'Kattegat'. Also when go to the yellow bridge 'Den Eylbrug' there is a nice playground just on the other side of the water 'de Zaan'. Definitely go there!
