Bunna Café - Ethiopian Food

https://bunnaethiopia.net/ Delicious and great option for vegan or vegetarian meals. We go quite often and we really like the food there and also the coffee cerimonial.
One of our favorite restaurants and 8 minute walk from our place. Not an option for vegans or vegetarians, they serve pork meat. we love the "empanaditas" and always curious withe their new add ons when they change the menu. @maitebushwick

Saraghina is a 25 minute walk from our place in the neighborhood of Bedstuy but its worth every step you take. They have amazing pizza (quite famous for it and I remember the offer gluten free option) and serve other kinds of food, it suits to all type of foodies. Also they have a bakery that is to die for. @saraghinabrooklyn @saraghinabakery

Neighborhoods

Edgy and increasingly hip, Bushwick is an evolving, industrial area marked by imaginative street art and converted warehouses that are home to artist studios and artisanal coffee shops. Dining options span the globe, and avant-garde nightlife thrives in clubs like performance space House of Yes and quirky bars with vintage, mismatched furnishings. A few pocket parks are shaded by mature trees and have playgrounds. Bushwick and neighboring East New York are the center for the Hispanic community in Brooklyn, lately we are seeing a lot of migration from the city here to the new development building, in search of a less loud and calmer neighborhood, although near the area of where "House of Yes" is the most festive and night live scene in the neighborhood.

Consejos para la ciudad

Facilidad para moverse por la casa

M, J and L train available. City bikes around the corner.

During the weekends the train schedule changes because of the constructions they've been doing on the train tracks, so to cross to Manhattan you will need to check which line is available and where to switch, my take more than one train to cross. Google maps is the best way to find trains or busses to move around or there is 3 city bike stands quite close to our place and its worth to ride around to acknowledge the geography of the neighborhood.
Antes de que te vayas

Museum and concerts are cheaper if booked in advance.

Some museums have free entrance or upon donation, check the ones you would like to visit and see when they have their best deals. Most restaurants need reservation for large parties, so it's always best to get reservations before arrival or you may not be able to get last minute, specially during summer time.
