Stunning Setting.​ Exceptional Cuisine. The Old Library Restaurant is located in the historic Olean Public Library Building and is one of the region’s most beautiful and treasured landmarks. Built in 1909, with funds provided by the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, this elegant work of art was designed by architect Edward L. Tilton in the Beaux-Arts style, complete with original bookcases, a grand staircase, and two fireplaces. Full of Old-World charm and Art Deco flare, The Old Library pays tribute to the history of Olean's prohibition-era with its cozy and casual speakeasy vibe. This exquisite historical landmark was listed on the National and State Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Rock City Park is a majestic geological spectacle of enormous rock formations and is often referred to as the Eighth Wonder of the World. This prehistoric ocean floor is the World’s largest exposure of quartz conglomerate (also called ocean spar or puddingstone) and attracts thousands of visitors yearly. Located on top of Rock City Hill, on route 16, south of Olean, New York. Its altitude is 2,300 feet above sea level. Walk among natures creations and marvel at the rock formations! Bring your picnic basket and enjoy nature at its finest!

Hikers can choose among 66 miles of hiking trails. Trails are also available for horseback riding, biking, snowmobiling, and cross-country skiing. Letchworth offers nature, history and performing arts programs, guided walks, tours, a summer lecture series, whitewater rafting, kayaking, a pool for swimming and hot air ballooning. Experiencing Letchworth by hot air balloon is unforgettable. Winter activities include snow tubing, cross-country skiing, and snowmobiling. The historic completely restored Glen Iris Inn offers overnight accommodations and is open to the public for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Banquet and catering services are available for your special events. The Humphrey Nature Center offers year-round environmental education opportunities for school groups, scouts, youth organizations, and the general public. Programming and interactive exhibits highlight the geology, wildlife, and ecology of the park. In 2015, Letchworth won the USA TODAY Readers' Choice Award for Best State Park in the United States! Letchworth came out on top of the 19 other state parks nominated for the contest, chosen from more than 6,000 parks across the nation.

In 1907, the Olean Brewing Company built a state-of-the-art brewery on the corner of Green & Barry Streets to supply the Olean area with fine beer. It was open for 13 years until its demise due to prohibition. Now, over 100 years later, Four Mile Brewing has brought this brewing complex back to its original purpose.

This section also contains five miles (8.0 km) of paved bike trails and 130 camp sites. The Red House area is the location of the Administration Building for the park. The Quaker area is the southwestern section of the park. Its attractions include Quaker Lake, the Mount Tuscarora Fire Tower, hiking trails, Science lake, Bear Caves, Thunder Rocks, the Quaker Amphitheater, and several campsites. The Cain Hollow campground is located on the Quaker side of the park. Allegany State Park was named as a top "Amazing Spot" in the nation in 2007. It has also been referred to as "the wilderness playground of Western New York."
