The beginning of this hike to Haena Beach is just a 5 minute drive from us. It takes about an hour both ways to walk there. Make sure you bring water and snacks!

Take a scenic drive to the newest beach in the world! Created in 2018! Pohoiki- One of the newest beaches in the world and worth a visit. Stop in Pahoa at the Tin Shack Bakery and pick up a cup of coffee. Drive through Pahoa and head toward Kalapana. On your way stop at Leilani to see the recent flow. Drive again towards Kalapana and drive over steam vents that were recently created by the last lava flow. Once you are down in Kalapana head for Pohoiki which will be past McKenzie State Park. Drive over recent lava flows to see the newest beach.
