A great South Minneapolis spot. Great walking path around the entire lake. Great walking path along the entire lake. Apparently the lake itself used to just a large marsh, but in the 1920s the lake was drugged out making it the current lake it is now. There are two beaches, one on the west side of the lake and another on the east side of the lake off of 50th street. I like to run around the lake. If you run from my house all the way around the lake it is approximately 4.33 miles. Good spot for being outside in the city.
