Favorite Restaurants

This is the top rated restaurant in the state. It's won the James Beard award repeatedly for both wine and food, and is frequently on the list of top 10 restaurants world-wide. It's very expensive but if you want to say you've had the best of the best, this is it!

Frasca wins all the rewards, but this is actually my personal favorite. Their kale, apple and parmesan salad is out of this world! You'll need reservations and it's definitely higher end price-wise, but if I was going to splurge this would be my top choice.

You'll have to wait in line and the place will be noisy, but if you're looking for total indulgence this is the place. Think mile-high French toast, eggs benedict with homemade hollandaise...

This is new and largely unknown, but if you'd like something different this place is really fun. It's a cider house with cider flights and views that will absolutely blow your mind. Nothing in Boulder can compete if you're looking specifically for quintessential Colorado atmosphere.

This restaurant is another local's favorite. Think indulgent, beautiful, delicious food that resembles art. This is my go-to for a healthy, luxurious lunch with Oak as my 1st choice for dinner.

Things to Do

You've probably heard of Red Rocks and it's for good reason! This amphitheater is quintessential Colorado. You're open to the mountains surrounded by natural beauty, and yet the acoustics are magically perfect. If you can find a performance that still has tickets available go!

No trip to Boulder is complete with seeing the Pearl Street Mall. I actually hate shopping but this is a totally difference experience. Its a pedestrian street mall with live music, street performers, miles of flowers, and an energy and vibe that you can only understand after visiting.

Estes is the nearest true mountain town. This photo is a horrible depiction. It's actually an incredibly quaint little oasis which has a river and boardwalk running its full distance. It's also at the entrance of Rocky Mountain National Park, which has trails, rivers, views and vistas that will blow you away. Finally, it's home to the Stanley hotel where the Shining was filmed. If you stop in they have tours and lots of memorabilia from the movie.
