“Famous! It can take a entire day to go through the Biennale at arsenale and 2 days do see both Arsenale and Giardini. However, years after years, if you only have a day or a half day to dedicate to the biennale I recommend going to Arsenale rather than Giardini.”

“Inaugurated in 2006 and 2009, Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana are two contemporary art museums. Renovated by Japanese architect Tadao Ando they present personal and collective exhibitions. Palazzo Grassi and Punta della Dogana aim to share with the public the knowledge and love for contemporary art through the extraordinary Pinault Collection and to strengthen the privileged relationship the institution has developed with artists, especially thanks to works specifically conceived for its exhibition spaces. Since May 2013, the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi complements this artistic and cultural program. Conceived by Tadao Ando, this 225-seat auditorium offers a wide range of events - conferences, concerts, screenings - that underline the will to establish a dialogue with a Venetian and international public.”

“From Zattere you can enjoy the view over the Giudecca Canal and the Giudecca Island. Compared to the narrow streets and spaces in Venice, this place is like a breath of fresh air with a wide horizon and stunning view both on sunny and rainy days. In Zattere you can try DA NICO’s “gianduiotto”, iced hazelnut ice-cream served with tons of artisanal whipped cream – high in calories, it's a perfect snack after a long walk across town.”

“L’ambiente nel suo insieme evoca diversi aspetti della vita e delle attività del patriziato veneziano tra XVII e XVIII secolo, ed è popolato da manichini che indossano preziosi abiti e accessori antichi appartenenti al Centro Studi di Storia del Tessuto e del Costume, annesso al Museo. Realizzati in tessuti operati, impreziositi da ricami e merletti, essi documentano la perizia degli artigiani del tempo e l’eleganza raffinata e lussuosa per la quale i veneziani erano famosi.”

“A comparatively little known place, a good exemple of a Renaissance Venetian Scuola ('association, place of meeting'), with its original paintings and furniture still in site. This one has a gorgeous collection of primary works by Vittore Carpaccio, with the histories of St. George and Jerome. In the background of the religious stories, charming landscapes of Venice as it was some centuries ago, sparsely built and with wild vegetation. Fabulous! Un luogo relativamente poco conosciuto, è un bel esempio di scuola rinascimentale veneziana con dipinti e mobili originali ancora in loco. Vi si può ammirare una splendida collezione di opere primarie di Vittore Carpaccio. ”
