“Perfect little spot for an incredible cup of coffee, and some delicious seasonal food while sitting under the trees in the garden, or getting cozy inside. The shop has some super gifts to take home with you, with local jewellery, shirts, books and all sorts of lovely things.”

“Roberts House is an important example of the middle class British Colonial Style villa built in the late nineteenth century. It is a National Monument and an exotic immigrant to the Last Outpost of the British Empire nestled in a green oasis of indigenous trees. The Roberts family’s daughter Esther was born here and grew up to be the first female social anthropologists of the then Colony of Natal. She was well known as a librarian, author of research papers and books dealing with the indigenous population, and as a confidant and friend of Killie Campbell one of the doyens of Africana collectors in the country. Her large collection and library is now linked to the University of KwaZulu-Natal.”

“Ardmore Ceramic Studio is a must for all who enjoy pottery and art galleries. See the local artists at work in their pottery studio, behind the gallery and have coffee or tea in the nearby restaurant. Ardmore ceramics have been bought by collectors from around the world - and can be seen in Buckingham Palace. It is not often that one finds things to truly marvel at and this is one right on our doorstep. ”

“Stanger, or KwaDukuza, along the KwaZulu-Natal north coast, is an area rich in history. The final capital of the Zulu Kingdom under Shaka’s rule, the area is steeped in Zulu culture. It is the final resting place of Shaka and part of the Zulu Heritage Route. The KwaDukuza Museum, formerly known as the Natal North Coast Museum, gives visitors a comprehensive glimpse into the early days of Stanger, and maps its development over time.”
