The round bed mentioned in reviews has been replaced with a new queen-size.

Three great restaurants nearby; others are 5 to 8 blocks away.

Free on-street parking. WiFi. Coffee by the pot or K-cup.

El espacio
This a newer space in a large, antique home, built in 1876, with high ceilings. There are two connected rooms with a private entrance.
There is a queen sized bed (this replaces the round bed that some guests did not like).
As host, I would say that space is special because it is well appointed with good lighting, work space coffee maker that does K-cups or drip/filter.
There is a full-size fridge and comfy linens and bedding. And the small back yard with two giant Chestnut trees if pretty cool. There is even a large wooden table outside that can be use for work or just for sitting.
The hippest restaurant in town, the Horse Inn, is right across the street. Two to three blocks away you will find both the city's primary brew pub, Lancaster Brewing Company, and the neighborhood Irish Bar, Molly's Pub.
Beautiful Musser Park is three blocks away; along he way you'll pass a Turkey Hill convenience store.
There is a water cooler that dispenses hot and cold spring water.
The internet is high-speed. And the TVs here are set up to stream Amazon, Netflix and YouTubeTV for free on the host account.
Street-side parking is available just outside the gate and in front of your studio.
It's easy in and out here. The gated entrance opens to a peaceful, private backyard space. Inside the first-floor apartment, there is a large bar space, big table, round bed and a useful kitchenette.
The neighborhood is working class (not as posh as the East side of town but very safe). There is some hustle and bustle, and city noise, at the nearby intersection. But inside it's cozy and quiet.
Also, if you want to bring bikes, there is space to store and lock them up.

Acceso de los huéspedes
As host, I am in town frequently but also away at time for work. I live in the second-and-third-floor apartment. (The studio is a separate apartment on the first floor.) It's a common arrangement in Lancaster's "circa-1800s homes."
The studio is, of course, is connected to the rest of the home; the connecting door remains locked. Guests have a private door to the studio.
As host, I may have need to access the back yard for lawn and other maintenance.

Otros aspectos a destacar
The round bed that is often discussed in reviews has been replaced with a standard queen sized bed.
Ube has worked out great for some guests. It's just $6 to take Uber across the city.
You could hear some footfalls (occasionally children and a small, quiet dog are with me, the host, on the upper two floors).

Lancaster, Pensilvania, Estados Unidos

This is a working class neighborhood with a few nice parks and great access to the busier "downtown" Lancaster City. The center of the city (convention center, Central Market) is 7 blocks away.
There is some road traffic, and pedestrians do often stroll past the house. If you prefer a quieter, tonier setting, look for listings on the West Side of the city near Franklin & Marshall College.

I publish guidebooks for a living, so I can point you in the right direction in this town! My two great daughters are the coolest monkeys in the jungle. In winter, we ski; summer, it's the Delaware Shore, Rhode Island or Southern Maine. Havanese and boxers are my favorite dogs. Music, beaches, ski mountains, Maine, St. Croix, photography ... these are a few of my favorite things. Grateful Dead anyone?
