Just be gentle to the natural world. Don't flush anything that does not need to go down the toilet. We are on Septic, so throw your Kleenex and paper towels in the garbage. If there is pork in the freezer it is likely available, please ask. Don't leave outdoor lights on, and look up to the sky!! it's pretty awesome here. Please recycle. No fireworks, no ATV, no snowmobiles. If you smoke, smoke outside, and be aware of other guests. We do allow pets and have a pet policy a fee. Please don't mess with the refrigerator settings, and water ftom the tap is good, no need for bottled water.

We loved staying with April and Steve. The location was beautiful and very picturesque. They were very friendly and helpful. They showed us around the farm when they had a chance and it felt like a very personal experience. We loved exploring the property. We didn’t leave once we got there. Bring good hiking boots and clothes if you want to get the most out of your stay as the best spots are only accessible by hiking through high prairie. The house is roomy and full of light and could comfortable host quite a few people. The kitchen is well equipped but plan to bring groceries when you arrive as the nearest grocery store is a number of miles away.

Quiet and peaceful country setting, spacious home, short drive (about 20 minutes) to New Glarus town and brewery. Hiking and biking trails in the area. The farm itself is an interesting place with the native plants and Heirloom hog farming. April and Steve are friendly hosts, we enjoyed talking with them.

This is a wonderful location if you're looking to get away from it all. You wake in the morning to a view of a rolling prairie/pasture and the sounds of birds- the view from the main bedroom is just extraordinary. I got to see the new litter of baby pigs, was treated to fresh eggs for breakfast and got to check out the wildflowers allover the property. April & Steve were very friendly and accommodating. Internet connection was a bit dicey, and my phone provider (sprint) rarely worked in the entire 'driftless' region-- which was an issue since I was traveling for work, but again, if you truly want to get away from it all- this is the place to do it! Within an easy drive from quite a few fun, quaint little towns with plenty of stuff to do! Great for the nature/outdoor lover.

April and Steve welcomed us immediately upon arrival. They gave us a lay of the land and walk through of the house. The view from the master bedroom was magnificent to fall asleep and wake up to. The property was beautiful and we enjoyed a tour of the barn and description of the pigs. Our stay was peaceful and a great reconnection with nature.

This is a natural paradise for nature lovers, birders, prairie lovers as well as anyone really wanting to get away from urbanity. There are many small towns that host terrific food and beverages as well as history, culture, and relaxation opportunities. We enjoyed the quiet at April and Steve's farm as well as their commitment to living light on the land--prairie restoration, careful tending of their land and animals--the bird watching was perfect from their back porch.

A food, and nature lover. I am an organic veggie farmer that is slowly moving into the animal world of farming. Food and health are on the top of my list. I believe food has the power to heal and connect us. You are what you eat; what did you have for breakfast? My partner …
