Montclair Private Garden Studio

Quality, private room with bath in garden setting at our home in the Montclair Hills area of Oakland. Private entrance, quiet, safe, residential area. The room is detached from our house and has a kitchen area (no oven) with sink, cabinets, microwave, hot plate and coffee maker available. The bed is a queen size, regular bed (with box spring). There is a small refrigerator built into the wall just outside the room. Table, lounge chairs, etc. available for your use in the garden. We are happy to provide information, maps, etc. that may enhance your stay. We have been with Airbnb for a few years now, have earned "Superhost" status, have traveled a lot, have exchanged our home in the past, and enjoy providing a pleasant "home away from home" for our guests. We are located just up the hill from Montclair Village, where you can find grocery stores, retail shops and restaurants. There is easy access from here to all of the cultural and scenic attractions of San Francisco, Berkeley and the Napa-Sonoma wine country. As we are in the hills, it is a good idea to have a car. There is wifi in the room; cell phone reception is sometimes spotty, depending on your carrier. There is unrestricted street parking available in front of our home. You can reach downtown SF by car in about 25 minutes. If you want to travel by public transit, you can walk to the village and take a bus to San Francisco, or park your car at Rockridge BART station (less than 10 minutes from our home). Many guests have taken lyft/Uber from the house to BART station (cost bout $6-8). Our garden studio is in a great location, with easy access to all attractions of the area. It is beautiful space--perfect for someone looking for quality lodgings in a quiet, private setting. We hope you will give our beautiful garden studio a try.

Begin the day in a bathroom with a rain shower, twin vanity, and tiles from Spain. French doors add space and light to the open interior, helping to showcase the striking artworks by Deb, one of Melbourne's leading street artists. This well-lit garden studio has a queen bed next to french doors that open to Juliet balconies. Recently remodeled with new contemporary finishes, this spacious studio has an open floor plan with lots of natural light. The french doors open to give the studio an indoor / outdoor experience. It’s a perfect spot to read on sunny days or have a glass of wine on warm evenings under the stars. The modern bathroom has a new rain shower head, tiles imported from Spain and a washer and dryer. Follow the pathway to the many restaurants, markets, and bars on Grand Avenue, with Trader Joe's and many other shops also close. Visit the historic Grand Lake Theater and the Morcom Rose Garden, and walk the picturesque shores of Lake Merritt. The home is walking distance to Lake Merritt and all the great shops and restaurants on Grand Avenue - one of Oakland's best commercial strips. 19th Street BART stations is a quick bus ride (10 - 15 minutes on the 21, which leaves less than a block from the house) or a Lyft or Uber ride away. Lyft line usually costs under $5 per ride from the home to any of the BART stations in Oakland. There is parking for one car available at the entrance to the studio. The home is also walking distance to Lake Merritt and all the great shops and restaurants on Grand Avenue - one of Oakland's best commercial strips. 19th Street BART stations is a quick bus ride (10 - 15 minutes on the 21, which leaves less than a block from the house) or a Lyft or Uber ride away. Nice, private, 1 bedroom unit in a convenient location. Walking distance to shopping, restaurants and coffee. It's around 600 square feet and has an ample private porch area. Full kitchen and dining nook. Living room with television (Roku TV). Free Wifi is available. Office desk available in the bedroom if you need a space to work on your computer. Best for 1-2 people, but can accommodate more with sleeper sofa in living room.

Be our guests in this cheerful and pretty dutch colonial home in a prime Oakland location. It's a 7 minute walk from Grand Ave. shops and restaurants or the Rose Garden, 10 minutes to Lake Merritt & Lakeshore Ave., and 15 minutes to Piedmont Ave. The home is spacious and light-filled, about 100 yrs old and decorated with a combination of new and vintage furnishings.
