Close to Lake Ericson, Cedar River, Calamus Reservoir and Pibel Lake. We are still renovating and appreciate our guests understanding our imperfections. Welcome to…The River. If you’re looking for solitude, masses of birds and a cool dip in a river, then this Loup River cabin and acreage may be just the ticket. Located in farmland but not far from the village of Dannebrog, where you’ll find great pizza and fresh baked goods. There is also a fine grocery store with all the essentials. If you need a bit of retail therapy, Grand Island is only 20 minutes away. There you will find most everything including the Crane Trust, a crane sanctuary.

The Pepper Shed

Welcome to The Pepper Shed! This is a unique utility, used as a dog house for our family dog Pepper. It has a built-in living quarters located next to our family home located along the Cedar River. Beds are located in open loft upstairs and bathroom is located on the ground level. While staying, feel free to make yourself at home with private access to a patio, dog kennel, walk out balcony with full accommodations of Wi-Fi, TV with Roku, washer and dryer, outdoor grill and full kitchen.

Cedar Creek Cabin

Outdoor enthusiasts, friends, and families, we invite you to enjoy your next Sandhills trip with a stay at the Cedar Creek Cabin. Our two bedroom, one bath, cabin sleeps eight. Located on a large lot to accommodate outdoor activities, including a fire pit. The park, Nebraska's Big Rodeo, and the town square (where there several dining options) are all within walking distance. The area's main attraction Calamus Reservoir is a short 7 mile drive, offering fun for the entire family.

Escape to the peace and quiet of the countryside in this new charming building that is nestled in 5 acres of grassland, vineyard, and gardens. Stay in this historic carriage house apartment. Although beautifully decorated it does not pretend to be a five-star hotel. Our home is next to a train track. Welcome to rural Nebraska. Stroll down to Side Street Deli for coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Enjoy the Dark Island Trail located 5 minutes away. Plan dinner at Prairie Creek Vineyard and Winery located across the street or at the authentic Mexican restaurant that is a 1 minute walk away.

Less than 30 minutes drive to local attractions such as Calamus Reservoir, Sherman Lake, Fort Hartsuff State Historical Park and Davis Creek Reservoir.

The Little House on the Prairie is nestled in the heart of the Nebraska Sandhills. We are a mere ten minutes from the Calamus River and Calamus Lake (west end) which offers tanking, tubing, boating, and fishing. This is a birders paradise! Bald eagles, prairie chickens, and a plethora of other species to observe will be waiting out your window. Star-gazers will find our night skies free of light pollution. Nature awaits!

Quiet and cozy Cottonwood Cottage in Scotia

Find peace and solitude as you relax and unwind in our quiet neighborhood. Our cabin has all new flooring, new furniture, and appliances, with a remodeled bathroom. The big front porch is the perfect place for morning coffee or an evening meal. A quiet street with a corn field to the south of the cabin and a grassy meadow on the other side. Just across the meadow is the Scotia Rec Hall with playground equipment.
