It is equipped with Yukimi-mado, tokonoma (alcove), toriniwa , fusuma , tatami mats,and tsuboniwa. Relax in this quiet and comfortable home. Stay in an officially recognized Kyo-machiya, treasured for its historic Kyoto charm.

I am an Artist / Photographer born in Kyoto I started hosting because I love meeting people from all over the world and making new friends. This place used to be one big guesthouse, but during Covid19, I have stopped running the guesthouse and I moved in with my wife and 2 kids. Still I didn't want to give up so I left the good parts. Private cypress bath and renovated rooms and made another entrance for the Guests. So now it is 2 separate house Please check the house rules before you book.

This means that you have an entire house for yourselves. Perfectly comfortable for couples and best fitted for families or groups. It retains some classic Kyoto exteriors and interiors, western comforts like beds, kitchenette, dining table and chairs are also well furnished. It is located in the traditional Kamigyo Ward, minutes walk from the Imperial Palace. We collaborated with award winning architects at Ikken to renovate this space, which now accommodates the comforts of modern life, while retaining many of the original structure and elements from its past.

Just 6 minutes by walk from subway Imadegawa station. You can walk to imperial palace in 10 minutes. You can stay like you live in Kyoto. We have wooden bath with small garden view. There are wooden deck besides living space, you will have relaxing time at the wooden deck with garden view. Electric bikes are rent for free. We have 2 houses,the house is next door, 7 people can stay at onetime. If you would like to, please make reservation from A&B.

[Tabitabi Shinsen] is a traditional two-storey machiya , which was built in the Taisho era with more than one hundred years history. The name Shinsen comes from one of the oldest famous courtyard in Kyoto during Heian Period, "Shinsenen", which is located near our house. Here, you can experience the original and traditional Japan and the ingenuity of combining modern elements with traditional craftsmanship.

'SAIGU' is a distinctly quaint 120-year-old Kyoto Machiya in the north-west area of Kyoto city. In 2010, the house was carefully and lovingly restored to its original beautiful style. It has four bedrooms so can accommodate 4 people comfortably, or 8 people max. The house is about 92 square meters.
