The Schoolhouse Cottage

Our Airbnb was a one room schoolhouse & has been converted into a one bedroom, one bath country escape with a fully equipped kitchen! The queen bed accommodates two guests, & a folding cot is available for a third guest. Children are welcome! However, we cannot accommodate pets. Enjoy sitting by the fire pit, or visiting historic downtown Marshall. This is a private stand alone unit, but the owners live next door & are available during your stay. While WiFi is available, it is country internet.

Welcome to Chez Lafayette Guest Cottage located in the beautiful historic district of Jefferson, TX! We are just a few minutes stroll to all of the quaint shops and restaurants in downtown Jefferson. If you prefer, you can keep your car parked and walk anywhere in the historic district! You will have the entire cottage to yourself with a queen sized bed, private bath, stocked coffee bar with Keurig coffee pot, small table for two, and a cozy sitting area with two oversized chairs and ottoman.

Daily pet fee $10.00 per day per pet due check in 2pets. 30 lb. limit unless you talk with us first. NO CATS. You will need to provide animal crate if pet is left alone in cabin. Welcome! We want to share a bit of history with you! Enjoy a once in a lifetime experience staying at this unique & intricate beautiful 1890’s home. In the 1890’s Charles Ginocchio, owner of the Ginocchio Hotel and the Ginocchio home, had this home built by C. G. Lancaster for Emile Meyers, who operated a saloon in the hotel. Emile, an immigrant from Alsace-Lorraine continued to work at the hotel for many years. During the prohibition era, he converted the saloon into a soda fountain.
