Qué harás

This is a one-of-a-kind walk through the neighborhood of Dumbo with exclusive interactive experiences, including meeting local residents and workers, behind-the-scenes access to a local artists' studio, and a food or drink tasting.

We'll do the reverse commute from Manhattan on a comfortable ferry. There we will see how this waterfront area has transformed from an industrial hub to a once abandoned and run-down area to a now revitalized hub for artists, innovators, tech companies, and photographers.

As we take in the breathtaking views along old warehouses and cobblestone streets, we'll visit some of the local businesses and meet the people in the community. Pay a visit to the brand new Time Out Market. Get your hand's dirty as you help to make a local food or drink. Meet staff members at places like indie bookstore Powerhouse Arena and artisanal Brooklyn Roasting Company. Enjoy exclusive behind-the-scenes access at a local artist's studio to meet the artist and learn about their work. Visit one of the city's newest brewpubs and have the chance to purchase and pour your own beer.

We're a team of local New York tour guides who love the history and local businesses of the ever-changing Dumbo neighborhood in Brooklyn. Brian is a food blogger, Josh is a former sports broadcaster, Sasha is a working actor, and Sheli is a history obsessed New York native. Together we have gone deep into the neighborhood of Dumbo and collaborate directly with the NY Times to develop this interactive tour. We've used articles as an inspiration and resource for curating this behind-the-scenes experience where you will get to meet a local artist in their studio, get a hand's on food experience at either a coffee or chocolate shop, and have the chance to pour your own housemade craft beer (for purchase).

Donde estarás

We'll start in Manhattan where we'll catch a commuter ferry to travel just over the river into Brooklyn. The rest of the morning will be spent discovering the neighborhood of Dumbo (Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass) by visiting some of the old warehouses that used to be part of the Brooklyn industrial boom of the 19th Century, meeting the people who live and work there, and visiting some of the modern day local businesses.

Hands down one of the best tours I’ve been on - easily in my top 3! I’ve been on two tours with Brian and he is a passionate and charismatic guide. If you’re looking for something fun and upbeat, this tour is it.

Great great experience. I am a native New Yorker and learned a lot about the history of DUMBO, tasted some great food, and got to visit an artist studio for the first time. Brian was very knowledgeable and accommodating even though me an my wife were the only guests on the tour. The tour was on my wife’s birthday and he surprised her with a little donut cake with candles during our last stop of the tour. Thanks Brian for cool DUMBO experience. Highly recommend the tour.

It was our first time to New York and doing a tour was our first thing to do. Everything that Brian showed and taught us about Dumbo was awesome. The history on it is amazing especially how everything has evolved since their time. Would definitely go on tour with him again.

Brian was very knowledgeable about DUMBO and was very attentive to my dietary needs. He was friendly and helped us experience the behind-the-scenes part of Brooklyn that we would not have had a chance to see on our own.

Although I live in Brooklyn, I decided to book a Dumbo tour with visiting friends from Florida. I had been to Dumbo a few times with my boyfriend but I never thought much about it. This tour completely changed my mind about the area. It was such a fun experience and something that I would never do on my own. It was great to learn details on the history of the area with my visiting friends. As a New York City resident, I really enjoyed getting the back story on how Dumbo came to be and how it is changing everyday. Such a cool area with so many things to do. Can't wait to take another group of visiting friends to Dumbo since I am now the expert of the area thanks to our wonderful tour guide, Brian. Highly recommend this tour!
