The Cottage

Unplug in this peaceful little getaway. Nestled in the backyard of our little hobby farm near the Wood River, you will be able to visit our alpacas, goat, or honey bees. Sit and relax on the porch, or stroll through the pasture or neighborhood. In many ways, the cottage resembles a tiny house with a small bathroom & shower, kitchen sink, microwave, induction hot plate, coffee maker, plates, glasses & utensils. Many of the restaurants & shopping amenities are located on the north end of Kearney.

The Nest

The Nest is an upstairs mini apartment in a building on a working bison ranch. The decor is birds, flowers, nature. The windows look out over the pastures. The bathroom features a shower and small clothes washer. The kitchenette area includes hot drink dispenser, microwave, toaster oven, and mini fridge. A cot and portable crib are available on request. Breakfast snacks and coffee are included in the room rate. Covid concerns: you will be the only occupants in the building overnight.

What started out as hobby, paired with Gothenburg's need for affordable lodging, has blossomed into a way for us to raise a little extra money for our daughters college fund. We are a mere ten minutes from the Calamus River and Calamus Lake (west end) which offers tanking, tubing, boating, and fishing. This is a birders paradise! Bald eagles, prairie chickens, and a plethora of other species to observe will be waiting out your window. Star-gazers will find our night skies free of light pollution. Nature awaits!
