There are significant Royal Connections with Balmoral Castle, the summer residence of the Royal Family only a short drive away.There are a good number of places to eat, catering for many tastes as well as a well stocked supermarket. Outdoor activities include many walks and Biking trails with two bike hire sources in the village and the Cairngorms are not too far away.

Connected to the old cruck barn this is a compact, cosy, self contained bedroom. It’s set on one side of the courtyard with separate key access so you can come and go at will. My unusual holiday home is part of the unique Bridge House built over the River Ardle in k1881. It has recently been renovated to a warm and cosy standard! Self contained annexe in the heart of Royal Deeside. The 'bothy' is a 1 bedroom home attached to our converted farmhouse. Downstairs has a spacious fully-equipped kitchen/living area with sofa bed and log burner. Upstairs is a double bedroom and shower room. Just 6 miles from Ballater, and in the Cairngorms National Park, the Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve is on our doorstep with walks and cycle routes. Close by is Tarland Trails 2 mtb centre. Our property has bike wash and storage.

The Annex ( with Sauna )

Self check-in is available if required. Self contained annex with spacious, south facing bedroom with access out to the garden which guests can use. We are 2 minutes walk from the river and can direct you to nearby hills and lochs where scenic walks can be enjoyed. There is a cosy, friendly pub just round the corner which serves home cooked meals all day. They welcome "muddy boots, kids and dogs". We are dog friendly too so please feel free to bring your well behaved dog along.

The Bothy has a wood burner to create a special romantic atmosphere or perhaps a solo restful retreat. The single day bed pulls out to create a double bed. There is a table to have meals at or work away from home. Lots of local delicious food & coffee spots to explore nearby.

Thornbank is a snug and simple timber built holiday cottage in the heart of the village of Braemar.  Paragliding, mountain biking, skiing, walking or perhaps a relaxing holiday at one with nature?  Here you can indulge in all the activities that the Upper Dee Valley and Cairngorms National Park have to offer, then return to a cosy hearth and home. We are located in the centre of the village, but set back behind the road in a quiet spot with woods to the rear.

A place to get away, relax and enjoy the natural surroundings! Nochty Studio is a eco cabin located on the edge of the small village of Bellabeg in the Cairngorm National Park, in close proximity to Ballater, Braemar, Royal Deeside and on the edge of Moray. The Studio is on the east side of Glen Nochty enjoying open views of the Nochty River and the Doune of Invernochty. The village itself is a 5 minute walk away, with a local shop.
